Thermal band identification for maximum coal retrieval
Helping our clients achieve maximum productivity is a fundamental aspect of product design at Nautitech®. When it comes to longwall operations, the goal is to achieve perfect positioning of the shearer for efficient coal retrieval – a challenge that can be overcome through identification of marker bands left by the shearer as it moves across the coal face.
While these marker bands are not always visible to the naked eye, the Nautitech® Thermal Camera can identify these reference points for optimum positioning of the shearer for maximum coal extraction.
Utilising ONVIF data compression, data transferred from the thermal camera using the Spitfire® BPLM can be used to adjust vertical positioning of the shearer for automated operation, to maximise productivity, reduce operator risk, and reduce damage to shearer picks.
